The efficiency of a Carnot heat engine can be increased either by increasing the source temperature while the sink temp held constant or by decreasing the sink temp while the source temp is held constant. Which of the above two methods are more effective?

on 2010-04-21 09:30:00If you\'re taliking of the thermal efficiency of the engine. then i suppose it would be more efficient to decrease the sink temp and keep the source temp const.Because the efficiency is heat equvlnt. divided by the total heat supplied. So if we keep the heat supplied constant and decrease the sink temp. it wud be more efficient.
