WBJEE is the Common Entrance Examination in Offline mode (OMR based examination) for admission to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self-Financed (Private) Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

Examination Centres : In West Bengal, Tripura (Agartala), Assam (Silchar) only.
Age Restriction : The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as of 31.12.2024. A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2007. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the examination.
General Academic Qualifications criteria for admission into Engineering Courses (except Jadavpur University and Calcutta University) :
  • Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application / Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Must have passed English in the 10+2 examination with at least 30% marks.
  • The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned.

Requirements in terms of Residential/Domicile Criteria:
  • There is no particular Residential/Domicile requirement to appear in the WBJEE-2024.
  • However, the State (West Bengal) Residential/Domicile requirement is applicable for admission to any Government Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy Colleges of the State as well as for admission to any reserved category of seats in respect of any course in any of the enlisted Universities/University Departments as well as in any Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy Colleges of the State.
  • The State (West Bengal) Residential/Domicile requirement is also applicable for any seat under the TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) Scheme.
