It is the Common Entrance Examination in offline mode (paper based examination) for admission to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal.
WBJEE 2020 will be held on 2nd February, 2020 (Sunday)

Examination Fees for WBJEE 2020 : Rs. 700/- (for General candidates) and Rs. 500/- (for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates); plus Bank's service charge as applicable.
Examination Centres : In West Bengal, Tripura (Agartala), Assam (Silchar) only.
Age Restriction : Candidates must be at least 17 (seventeen) years of age or above on 31.12.2020. That means a candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2003. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering Course for which upper age limit is 25 years as 31.12.2020.
General Academic Qualifications criteria for admission into Engineering Courses (except Jadavpur University and Calcutta University) :
  • Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application / Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Must have passed English in the 10+2 examination with at least 30% marks.
  • The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned.

Requirements in terms of Residential/Domicile Criteria:
  • There is no particular Residential/Domicile requirement to appear in the WBJEE-2020.
  • However, the State (West Bengal) Residential/Domicile requirement is applicable for admission to any Government Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy Colleges of the State as well as for admission to any reserved category of seats in respect of any course in any of the enlisted Universities/University Departments as well as in any Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy Colleges of the State.
  • The State (West Bengal) Residential/Domicile requirement is also applicable for any seat under the TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) Scheme.
