Depends on what type of job you are looking for... 1. If you are looking forward to crack the PSUs you have to take the GATE and for that you have to study the basics of mechanical engineering very minutely and you have to learn to use it in the time of necessity. You really have to work very hard on your communication skill as there will be several rounds of GDs and PIs after you crack GATE and secure yourself a mere call for 1st round of GD. 2. There are also some PSU who recruit thru' there own exams. For those you have to study the course of GATE plus some aptitude (both verbal and non-verbal and non-verbal). 3. If you are thinking of private organisations in design field, you should go for training courses on CAD-CAM softwares like CATIA, SolidWorks, DellCam, ProE etc. You may also go for training on ANSYS which will fetch you the chance of interview in some of the biggest organisations in India who work in the fields of design analysis. 4. Now if you want to go for manufacturing jobs, you should probably go for some training in hydraulics and pneumatics. You can also take a training course on CNC tools from MSME toolrooms. Lastly, to land a good job the most important thing you will need is good communication and confident presentation of yourself in the interview room. Hope this helps.
