Both psk and qpsk are the modulation techniques for digital message where the phase shift keying is employed. The qpsk may be looked upon as the sum of two binary psk signals impressed on two quadrature carriers which are phase shifted by 180 degrees. Just like AM and QAM signals in analog modulation. So, qpsk allows the bits to be transmitted using half the band-width used in psk.

One correction please. The quardature carriers are phase shifted by 90 degrees.
