Library

present, Bengal College of Engineering & Technology has two libraries.

The Central Library in the campus is place of pride  for SKS Group of Institutions, Durgapur. It is an essential component of the Institute’s outstanding research and education mission. It is a most lively place on the campus providing a safe, comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge. The mission of the Central Library is to facilitate creation of new knowledge through acquisition,organization and dissemination of knowledge resources and providing for value added services.

The Central Library is an Air-Conditioned and fully automated. It is well stocked and has excellent collection of books, journals and non book material in Science, Engineering, Technology, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management. At present the Central Library has a collection of over 41000 volumes of books  with 4225 titles of different subjects. Besides this, the Central Library has 1500 CD’s. The OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) has been made available in the library and any search viz. authors, titles, subjects, book no. etc. can be made through it. The students of SKS Group of Insitution can also access the books from the Central Library.

The Library receives 180 periodicals in print and 2260 e-journals. There is a separate section for the reference books. The seating capacity of the Central Library is for 500 students.

The Central Library offers inter-library loan service to its users for the books and periodicals not available in the BCET library by procuring them from DELNET, New Delhi and American Information and Resources Centre, Kolkata.

The Management Library is also fully air-conditioned and is mainly meant for the students of Management & Computer Application programs. But however the students of SKS Group of Institutions can also access the books from the Management library.
