JELET 2019 | Domicile Rules

Requirements in terms of Residential / Domicile Criteria

There is no particular Residential / Domicile requirement to appear in JELET 2019 admission test.
However, the State (West Bengal) Residential / Domicile requirement is essential for admission into any Government College / Institution in any Category of seats.
Only in case of Diploma holders in Fashion Technology under Govt. Polytechnic Institutions from Tripura are eligible for admission to Degree level Apparel Production & Management Course and Textile Technology Course in Govt. College of Engineering & Textile Technology, Serampore and Berhampore under Lateral Entry Scheme with relaxation of (West Bengal) domicile criteria.
Also the state (West Bengal) Residential / Domicile requirement is essential for admission in any reserved category of seats in any College / Institution.

Criteria to be treated as domicile of West Bengal and applicable Proforma of Certificate

Only those candidates will be treated as domicile of West Bengal, who are either,

Residing in West Bengal continuously at least 10 (ten) years as on 31.12.2016. OR
Whose parent(s) is / are permanent resident(s) of West Bengal having permanent address within the state (West Bengal).

In case of 1) above, the certificate is to be obtained in Proforma 'A1' or Proforma 'A2'. In case of 2) above, the certificate is to be obtained in Proforma 'B'.
