About

The mission of the institute is to become one of the finest engineering institutes in the country and partner the state in the industrial resurgence in West Bengal by generating world class engineering graduates. Every member of GNIT identifies with this mission very passionately and is committed to fulfill this mission. GNIT identifies that improving employability of graduates is of paramount importance.

It has chalked out a detailed action plan to ensure this development - GNIT intends to get all its programmes accredited within the next 4 years, improve and enhance the quality of its learning resources, intends to provide academic support for the weak students, has chalked out a detailed plan for improved student performance evaluation through surprise tests, viva-voce and mini projects - it intends to introduce industry oriented curriculum with the help of eminent industry experts, strengthen its training and placement cell and enhancing the relationship with the various industries through HR conferences in partnership with National Institute of Personnel Management, National Human Resource Development and Indian Society for Training and Development - organize regular guest lectures by eminent industry experts, organise in-plant training for the students in various industries and make students participate in live projects.

GNIT is also planning to organise a high quality Finishing School that will enhance the personality, smartness, attitude, communication and presentation skills, G.D and P.I skills, general knowledge, aptitude and specialized technical skills. GNIT also intends to galvanise its relationship with the alumni by seeking their support in obtaining employment and projects for their students. GNIT also intends to introduce a continuous system of student feedback and encourage more participation from students in projects and paper presentations in conferences.

For increasing learning outcomes of the students, GNIT wishes to establish new laboratories. Intends to develop more intense networking with eminent national and international institutes, develop a more industry oriented curriculum, establish e-learning and e-library, encourage participation in seminars, workshops, summer / winter schools and refresher courses by faculty members and students and develop a 24x7 Wi-Fi campus.
